Yesterday, it was announced that “Saturday Night Live” is bringing on three new people as featured players for the upcoming season, including an Asian guy, Bowen Yang. This should be hilarious—but not because I find Asian people naturally humorous, mind you.
This news follows the news that black female cast member Leslie Jones is leaving the show. This is being presented, in the media, as Jones having gotten too big (careerwise) to be on the show anymore, but I’m not sure if I buy that. The only movie I recall her being in was that all-female remake of Ghostbusters. I remember Milo Yiannopoulos got banned from Twitter because he posted a negative review of it on Breitbart, which led young racist CACs to harass Jones on Twitter, and this somehow contributed “targeted harassment” on his part. Later, someone hacked Leslie Jones’ cell and posted her noodz. I’m not gonna lie—I looked, and I’m still traumatized.
None of the new SNL hires is a black woman, that I’m aware of, so that could be an issue, if they go back to having Kenan Thompson put on a dress. But it might be mitigated, to a certain degree, by the fact that this guy Yang is an Asian. Arguably, it’s more progressive for SNL to bring on an Asian than it would have been for them to bring on another black chick. They already had at least one black female cast member back in the day, Ellen Cleghorne, and they brought on a second diversity hire when they hired Leslie Jones. I’m not sure what happened to her, but the fact that she was there in the first place ought to count for something. Former SNL cast members Fred Armisen and Rob Schneider were part-Asian, on the low, but that doesn’t really count. (Quiet as its kept, I’m also part-Asian.) Armisen was an especially valuable utility player, in that he could portray pretty much any race. He was doing blackface as recently as the 2010s, and no one really gave a shit.
Of course things have only gotten progressively worse since then, and SNL will have to tread lightly with this new Asian guy, lest they end up getting canceled. I don’t envy the roomful of Ivy League educated CACs who will have to come up with skits with this guy in them that don’t involve, say, putting pee pee in the Coke or doing Karate. Would it be possible for this guy to act in a sketch set in a Chinese restaurant without SNL facing boycotts? If this were just the prospect of Asian people boycotting “Saturday Night Live,” it would be no big deal: Asian people, in the aggregate, are too intelligent to be watching SNL in 2019, and the few who aren’t probably don’t even have a TV. But it’s not Asian people that Lorne Michaels has to be worried about; it’s SJW white chicks being offended on Asian people’s behalf, and there’s no shortage of them.
On the one hand, I’m upset that there’s so many white chicks, because fuck that shit. But I can’t complain too much, for aesthetic reasons.
Take it easy on yourself,

In this week’s Members Only™ issue, I argue that the guy who sold Fentanyl-laced fake prescription meds to Mac Miller shouldn’t have been arrested. Honestly, I was shocked to see the video (included in the email) in which a crowd full of nominal hip-hop heads erupt in a roar of applause when it was announced that he had been arrested. I thought a drug dealer was someone to be venerated in hip-hop? If you can spare the $5, consider signing up by clicking the link below that says “Become a member for $5 per month.”
